The third time is the charm. Eintracht Frankfurt have finally won their first friendly of the season in attempt number three. Michael Skibbe's team took the lead in the first, when Teplice defender Klein scored an own goal. In the 60th minute Frankfurt doubled the score-line and again the goal-scorer was a Teplice player. This time, the unfortunate individual was Antonin Rosa. Frankfurt was the dominant team and could have been on target several more times but their finishing was far from clinical.

Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96 managed another walk-over in their third test-match of the season. On Tuesday, Mikael Forssell was top scorer during the 18-0 victory over HSC Hannover. This time around, the Finish international netted six goals as Hannover 96 beat lower league team VfV Hildesheim with the final score-line of 13-1. Mike Hanke was on target four times. The rest of the goals were provided by: Sergio Pinto, Jacek Krzynówek and new signing Constant Djakpa.

A late double by Angelos Charisteas secured Bundesliga club 1.FC Nürnberg a 3-1 victory in their away friendly against third league competitor FC Erzgebirge Aue. David Pinola netted the opener early on in the first half, but the second half began with the home-side playing better football.
Braham scored the deserved equaliser ten minutes after the restart. The visitors managed to take back the control towards the end of the match and pulled away with the win.

Top goal-scorer was Wilfried Sanou with three goals to his name. The other goal-scorers were: Ishiaku, Brosinski and Freis (two each) and Chihi and Zielinsky with one goal each.

Hamburger SV cruised to their second test-match win in their season preparation when they comfortably triumphed 13-0 over fourth league club Raika Längenfeld. Head coach Bruno Labbadia subbed off the entire starting line-up at half time, a total of 24 HSV players were given time on the pitch.
